The Top 8 performed on The Voice and now it’s time for the live semi-finals results. Here’s how it works: 3 artists will be announced as safe by America’s votes. Then the bottom 2 artists will be eliminated. Then the remaining 3 artists will compete for the Instant Save for the last spot in the finale — which will feature 4 artists. Before the fourth finalist is announced, five Voice alumni including Season 10 winner Alisan Porter (Team Xtina) will perform “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons.
“It’s Time” is from the Imagine Dragons’ 2012 album Night Visions. The refrain is “I’m never changing who I am.” Lead singer Dan Reynolds said the song is “about self-empowerment and staying true to your roots.” He also said he wrote the song while struggling with depression. “I wrote it at a low point in my life…It was a song for myself to cope with the low points of life – I was dropping out of college at the time. To hear it on the radio is a bit baffling.” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
