In the TV movie “The Christmas Train,” journalist Tom Langdon (Dermot Mulroney) is a taking the long way home — a train from D.C. to L.A. Time on the train forces Tom to slow down and reflect. It lets him look at life through another lens. While in a pensive mood on the train, Tom bumps into his ex-girlfriend Eleanor, who he says walked out on him. She’s surprised to hear that’s how he remembers it. But that was “a lifetime ago” ago and now that they’re older and wiser, they give each other a second chance.
