In Season 7 of Teen Mom, the young mothers have a lot on their plates. Amber Portwood splits with fiance Matt Baier. Maci Bookout‘s “uphill battle” with her ex Ryan Edwards isn’t getting any easier. And Catelynn Lowell and her husband Tyler Baltierra deal with the return of Tyler’s father Butch. Butch has abused drugs and has been in and out of jail for years.
While staying with Tyler and Catelynn, Butch tells his son he’s going to church “to get my spirituality right.” Tyler asks, “Why, it’s not right?” Butch shakes his head no and admits that he hasn’t been doing a good job at staying clean. He says it’s all in the head. “It’s a desire, it’s like sex.” Butch also admits that he’s at a place where he hates himself. Tyler says he can relate, he’s been there. Butch says he really doesn’t want to use anymore. “I’m tired. It’s wearing me down. It’s kicking my ass,” says Butch. Teen Mom OG airs Mondays at 9pm on MTV.
