On The Healer episode “How Can That Be?,” Charlie Goldsmith works with a 2-year-old named Gibson. Charlie admits to Gibson’s parents right up front that he doesn’t know what he can and cannot do with such a young child in pain. (Charlie claims to have the ability to heal people with his mind.) Poor little Gibson complains of headaches and pain in his knees. After that session, Charlie visits The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards, who is struggling with fibromyalgia — musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. (The world’s most famous fibromyalgia sufferer is Lady Gaga.)

Kyle tells Charlie the worst pain is in her neck then it “radiates” down her shoulders and arms. Yes, Charlie knows that people believe the power of healing is fraudulent but he’s setting out to prove to people that it is not. It appears that Richards is a believer. Note to believers: Charlie is offering remote group healing sessions. They are free and according to Charlie “can be quite good.” However, he does say they’re “not as good as one on one, but lots of people have benefited from them. It’s the best way I can try to be helpful to the people I can’t get to directly. The Healer airs Mondays at 10pm on TLC.
