The premiere episode of American Horror Story: Cult, “Election Night”, finds Ally Mayfair-Richards (Sarah Paulson) watching the results of the real 2017 American presidential election with horror. With Donald Trump as president, Ally tells Dr. Vincent (Cheyenne Jackson) that her coulrophobia (fear of clowns) has intensified. She believes she’s being haunted by (what appears to be) Twisty the Clown. Ally’s new neighbor Meadow Wilton (who has fears of her own including of the sun, heliophobia) is in for a shock, too.
