[Here For a Good Time is George Strait’s 39th studio album]
George Strait aka “King of Country” is a legend in country music. During the 1980s, seven of his albums reached number one on the country charts including his first single “Unwound.” He won his first Grammy award for his album Troubadour. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Like many country singers, his rise to the top wasn’t easy. His parents divorced when he was in the fourth grade and he and his brother were raised by his father. He eloped to Mexico with his high school sweetheart Norma. They had two children together, Jenifer and George, Jr. aka Bubba. Jenifer was killed in a car accident at the age of 13. Bubba grew up to become a musician and songwriter too, who often works with his father. George and Norma just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary (photos below). Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief will begin at 8pm and will air on all the major networks including ABC, CBS, CMT, FOX, and NBC.
