Victoria White and Marquist Taylor performed “Lean on Me” with the Houston Gospel Choir on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon (see below). After the two sang to give courage and hope to the survivors of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Fallon reached out and asked them to perform on the Tonight Show. Their dynamic, uplifting performance on the show is exactly what made Fallon take notice in the first place, after the duo’s performance for Texas evacuees went viral on the Internet. They simply crush it.
Fallon, more than any other late night host, weaves music into the tapestry of his show. His house band, The Roots, is an exceptional outfit that rules the stage alone and has also backed Fallon in some of his most popular spots — like when they play with toy instruments. Almost 50 million people watched Fallon and Adele perform “Hello” with Roots on the classroom toy instruments.
