Actress Lea Thompson and her siblings are competing on Celebrity Family Feud against TV personality/celebrity chef Sandra Lee. Both women have had long successful careers. While Sandra Lee started out selling products on QVC, Thompson studied ballet before acting. But when with the American Ballet Theatre, she was told by then ABT artistic director Mikhail Baryshnikov that she didn’t have the right body — so she pivoted and focused on acting. (Thompson revealed some of her ballet moves on Dancing with the Stars in 2014. Based on photo below, Thompson might reappear on DWTS.)
[Thompson was directed by her future husband in Some Kind of Wonderful]
Lea Thompson is known for her TV roles on Switched at Birth (Kathryn Kennish), Scorpion (Veronica Dineen), and Caroline in the City (Caroline Duffy). Thompson is also well recognized for her leading lady roles in the films Some Kind of Wonderful (Amanda Jones), Howard the Duck (Beverly Switzler), SpaceCamp (Kathryn Fairly), Back to the Future (Lorraine Baines), Red Dawn (Erica), and All the Right Moves opposite Tom Cruise (Lisa), among others. Fun facts: Thompson got her big break in the movie Jaws 3-D in 1983. She played water skier Kelly Ann Bukowski although she couldn’t swim, which according to imdb “she still can’t!” She is married to Some King of Wonderful director Howard Deutch. Celebrity Family Feud airs Sundays at 8pm on ABC, right before Steve Harvey’s Funderdome at 9pm.
