Heather Dombrosky is the registered nurse competing on MasterChef, Season 8. She is one of 40 home cooks vying for the title and $250,000 prize (and cookbook deal). Originally from Miami, Florida where she learned how to cook from her Peruvian mother, Heather now works as a nurse in Manhattan at New York-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.

Heather admits that when celeb chef Gordon Ramsay yells at her on the show, “You feel like you’re a little child.” And it’s a voice hard to shake. “I always hear his (Ramsay’s) voice in the back of my mind. It just inspires me to keep elevating my food,” Heather says. You can catch up with Heather at her blog, Give Zero Forks. MasterChef airs Wednesdays at 8pm on FOX.
