World of Dance will highlight the superior talent of dancers including Keone and Mari Madrid. They have been together for the past nine years, and have been married for nearly five. What America won’t see on the show are the sacrifices that many of these dancers have made in order to compete on the show.

One day before the premiere of World of Dance, Mari wrote a long, heartfelt blog post about their decision to compete on the show. “Honestly, we’ve stayed away from shows like this,” Mari wrote. They were wary of the creative freedom they would have on the show. And then there’s their marriage to consider. “I think it’s also worth mentioning that Keone and I are at the point, actually past the point of wanting to try to have kids.” She added, “We actually put trying for a baby on hold to be able to focus on this show. If you had the chance to do something that could potentially be huge for your future children, then I don’t think you’d hesitate. You’d at least have to try.” World of Dance airs Tuesdays at 10pm on NBC, right after America’s Got Talent.
