In The Middle episode “Adult Swim,” while Mike Heck (Neil Flynn) threatens to close the family summer pool if the kids don’t start using it, Frankie (Patricia Heaton) takes Axl (Charlie McDermott) shopping for a suit to wear on his job interviews. At the men’s store, they meet three-piece suit wearing Mort who measures Axl for the best fit.
Mort is portrayed by Alan Rachins. The veteran actor is known for his roles on Rizzoli & Isles (Stanley), Dharma & Greg (Dharma’s hippie father Larry Finkelstein), L.A. Law (attorney Douglas Brackman, Jr.), and in the 1995 film Showgirls (Tony Moss), among many others. Fun fact: He is married to Joanna Frank, the actress who played his ex-wife Sheila on L.A. Law (Sheila Brackman). The Middle airs Tuesdays at 8pm on ABC.
