In the current Playstation TV commercial “You Won’t Believe What’s In Store,” a bearded man is seen demonstrating some lethal objects in a curious shop. He addresses the viewer: “What do I sell? I sell glorious pandemonium, instant immortality, mastery of time and space, and the occasional nightmare.” He adds, “What I sell is life and death itself.” The ad is promoting Playstation 4’s Horizon Zero Dawn and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.
The seller is portrayed by actor Francis Magee. (Not UFC fighter Conor McGregor!) Americans will recognize the Irishman from the FX series The Bastard Executioner with Katey Sagal (Absolon) and Game of Thrones (Yoren). Magee also appears in the films Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Grizzly Rebel) and Layer Cake with Daniel Craig — back before Craig was James Bond (Paul the Boatman).
