The 2016 MTV EMAs is held at the Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands. And the host of the awards presentation is Bebe Rexha. The 27-year-old New York native was born to Albanian parents. (Her real first name is Bleta which means “bumble bee” in Albanian.) The young songwriter met Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz in 2010, and became lead singer of his band Black Cards before going solo.
Bebe continues to write songs for other artists including “Like a Champion” for Selena Gomez and “The Monster” for Eminem and Rihanna. She released the first single off her debut album A.Y.F., “No Broken Hearts” featuring Nicki Minaj, in March 2016. The music video dropped in April and has been viewed more than 128 million times. A.Y.F. will drop in January 2017. The 2016 MTV EMAs airs Sunday, November 6 at 8pm on MTV.
