On Oprah: Where Are They Now?, Oprah Winfrey sits down with country music legend Kenny Rogers. It’s not the first time the two stars have chatted in front of a camera, but things have changed since their last interview. For starters, Rogers is wrapping up his farewell tour, The Gambler’s Last Deal. The 78-year-old has taken on new projects (GEICO commercials) and switched hobbies from tennis to photography.
Rogers recently told The Advocate that he had to give up tennis (he played eight hours a day, every day) because “I realized I couldn’t move any more, and I couldn’t play” so he picked up photography. Rogers hired renowned photographer Ansel Adams’ assistant, John Sexton, to teach him Adams’s concepts and techniques. However, Rogers admits that he can’t get down below the waterfalls anymore, “so I may have to find something else to do.” Oprah: Where Are They Now? airs Saturdays at 10pm on OWN.
