Howard Stern continued being the best celebrity interviewer in the business this week with guest Olivia Wilde. Wilde is currently starring in HBO’s popular 1970s music biz drama Vinyl. Stern wondered if the stunning Wilde — a regular on lad magazines’ hot women lists — ever didn’t get a role because she was “too beautiful.” Wilde knew better than to say yes to that — those are the kind of sour grapes that don’t work out well. But she did reveal she was told she got passed over for The Wolf of Wall Street because she was too “sophisticated.”
But you know what she found out? Sophisticated was just a euphemism for “old.” Wilde told Stern she later discovered she didn’t get the part because she was considered too old to be Leo DiCaprio’s wife. Wilde is still just 32. The movie came out in 2014.
