If you missed The Wiz Live, you can just click your heels — or your iPad — three times and, oh my, there it is playing in full on NBC.com. The magnificent performance which wowed watchers and won ratings is worth seeing again, even it you were there to take in the Live part of the title on Thursday night.
Especially moving, according to social media, was Uzo Aduba‘s splendid turn as the great benefactor of yore, Glinda the Good Witch. It’s a far cry from Aduba’s equally excellent portrayal of Crazy Eyes in Orange Is The New Black. But her Good Witch role really struck a chord, visually stunning and game-changing for some who were struck by the vision of the heavenly Glinda portrayed by a black woman in such a prominent media position. Aduba isn’t on screen long, but the impression she made — as indicated by the tweet below — is a lasting one. Watch and wait for her. She’s worth it.
