In the TV movie A Mother Betrayed, after Monica (Lynn Collins) loses her husband in a fatal car accident, she never thinks she’ll find love again. She’s a single mom who spends a lot of time at work – building her multi-million dollar architectural firm. But she finds it and makes time for it when she meets Kevin (Adam Kaufman). After marrying, Kevin adopts Monica’s young daughter Maddy and then things change. Monica suffers from headaches and memory lapses. She starts taking medication and then wakes up one day to find herself in a mental hospital. Her mother Barbara comes to her side but is Monica really losing it? Or did Kevin just marry her and adopt her daughter to get at her estate?
Monica’s mother Barbara is portrayed by the veteran actress Joanna Cassidy. She’s appeared on several TV shows including Odd Mom Out (Andy’s mom), Six Feet Under (psychiatrist Margaret Chenowith), Body of Proof (Joan Hunt), and Buffalo Bill (JoJo White), among others. Cassidy is also recognized for her roles in the films Blade Runner (Zhora) and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (Dolores). A Mother Betrayed will premiere on Lifetime on November 15 at 9pm. It will air again on November 16 at 1am.
