Paul Mason was once the world’s fattest man. The 54-year-old Englishman used to weigh 980 pounds. In 2010 he underwent bariatric surgery and has since lost 650 pounds. Earlier this year, he had another surgery to remove excess skin of more than 50 pounds. Although his physical ailments aren’t over – he still suffers from lymphedema (poor circulation that causes his legs pain and swelling) – Mason has found emotional euphoria. He is engaged to be married to a pretty American woman named Rebecca Mountain. Together they live in her home in Orange, Massachusetts. Mountain says she’s looking forward to the day when Mason “can fit into dress clothes to wear to our wedding, and getting a green card so he can legally work in the U.S.”
