Paul Mason used to hold the title of World’s Fattest Man, weighing in at 980 lbs. But in 2010 he underwent bariatric surgery and has lost more than 650 pounds. Mason was the subject of the TLC series, World’s Fattest Man, which followed his health journey. One of the TV viewers, Rebecca Mountain, reached out to him via Facebook, and a romance followed. Mason and Mountain are now engaged and living together in Mountain’s home in Orange, Massachusetts.

Rebecca Mountain is the owner of Mountain Pet Products. She designs and handmakes cat furniture — cat trees, scratching posts, shelves, and toys. Mountain has been making cat trees since 2003 “after becoming frustrated and disappointed with carpeted cat trees that not only looked unattractive, but left a shredded mess and only encouraged my cats to scratch on my carpeted floor and rugs.” TLC will reair its documentary World’s Fattest Man on September 17 at 8pm and follow it up with a 2015 update which will include Mason’s new life with Mountain.
