Former NFL football player Frank Gifford of the New York Giants died on August 9. He was 84. In a statement, his family wrote: “Frank died suddenly this beautiful Sunday morning of natural causes at his Connecticut home.”
When the All-American from USC retired from the NFL in 1961, Gifford became a sports commentator, first for CBS. He later became a co-host of Monday Night Football (1971-1985). He married TV talk show host Kathie Lee Epstein in 1986. The couple have two children — Cody, 25, and Cassidy, 22. Frank and Kathie Lee shared the same birthday, August 16.
