The TV network, The CW tweeted a promotional poster for its forthcoming show The Flash, based on the DC Comics Universe character. In full-body red spandex, actor Grant Gustin is (barely) seen speeding through the streets of Central City. The tagline reads “Discover What Makes a Hero.” The Flash will debut Tuesday, October 7.
Some critics who’ve seen the pilot say Gustin is more compelling than the special effects on the show. Philip Pirrello at ComicBookResources wrote about Gustin: “He has more range and charm than previous DC TV show leads, and carries enough presence that we, for the most part, buy him when the action scenes kick in.” If Gustin proves to be as compelling as The Flash as actor Jim Parsons is as Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory — Sheldon’s a big Flash fan who often wears the iconic Flash t-shirt – maybe Gustin will be able to negotiate for $1 million per episode, too.
