The Ant-Man footage that Kevin Feige brought with him to Comic-Con last month set things buzzing–or whatever sound ants make. And now there’s word that the Kevin Rudd-Michael Douglas-Evangeline Lilly-driven movie has started production–and added some stars including Mad Men‘s John Slattery, Judy Greer, Neil Hamburger and Bobby Cannavale.
Director Peyton Reed tweeted the go news in the simplest way possible–with a nice little nod to Steve Martin in his wild and crazy guy phase: “LET’S. GET. small.” What’s smaller than an ant? Or what superhero is, anyway? Reed takes over a long-troubled project that could learn a lot from ants–from their organization and determination to get things done. And Reed is just the man for the Ant-Man job. He has a history of delivering excellent product in a variety of genres–and always bringing on the comedy. The brief glimpse that Feige showed at Comic-Con in August showed that humor will be central to the Ant-Man world.
Alright, gang. Today is the day. LET’S. GET. small. #AntMan
