Promoting his latest film Guardians of the Galaxy Vin Diesel sang Sam Smith’s song “Stay With Me” during a radio interview on the British radio station Capital FM. It’s a serious attempt on his part. The results are endearing. He sounds a little like the Reverend Al Green on the low notes, and hits the high notes like pubescent Peter Brady. The allure of watching this muscular man sing such a soft song is what karaoke bars are built on.
Last time Diesel appeared at Capital FM he sang Rihanna’s “Stay,” a song about the inability to resist true love. If Vin Diesel continues to sing these Stay-themed songs, his fans will never leave him.
