Race car drivers are not well-known for their dancing — but they continue to compete on Dancing with the Stars. NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip didn’t last long on Season 19. But then again he was 51 and 6’5” tall. On Season 23, James Hinchcliffe is going to give it a whirl with pro dancer Sharna Burgess. Hinchcliffe, the 29-year-old Canadian driver, describes himself as “resident class clown” of the Verizon IndyCar series, where in 2011 he was named Rookie of the Year.
But Hinchcliffe could lose his Class Clown title to fellow IndyCar driver Conor Daly who made a hilarious video in support of Hinchcliffe’s appearance on Dancing with the Stars. In the video below, Daly says with a straight face: “After being involuntarily punctured in the bum region, Young Hinch can do a shake, twist, and shimee unlike any other human being on this planet.” Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
