In the SEAL Team episode “All Along the Watchtower: Part 1,” Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) pleads to be sent to help Ray (Neil Brown Jr.) and Clay (Max Thieriot), who are abroad on a mission to protect a U.S. ambassador Nicole Marsden (Khandi Alexander) when their compound is attacked.
Alexander is known for her roles Scandal (Maya Pope, for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award), Treme (LaDonna Batiste-Williams), CSI: Miami (Alexx Woods), ER (Jackie Robbins), NewsRadio (Catherine Duke), and in films including Bessie with Queen Latifah, There’s Something About Mary (Joanie), What’s Love Got to Do With It (Darlene), Menace II Society (Karen Lawson), among others.

Before becoming an actress, Alexander launched her career as a dancer and choreographer. In the 1980s she was a choreographer for Whitney Houston’s world tour from 1988 to 1992. She also appeared on Broadway, starring in Chicago, Bob Fosse’s Dancin, and Dreamgirls.
