Two years ago, pop star Debbie Gibson starred in the Hallmark movie Summer of Dreams. She played a character based on herself, Debbie Taylor, a 80’s pop star who was dropped by her record label and her boyfriend. Now Gibson is back as Taylor in the sequel, Wedding of Dreams. Set in Youngstown, Ohio, Debbie asks if she can crash at her sister Denise’s house (Debbie Gibson’s real life sister is named Denise, too!). Denise (portrayed by Pascale Hutton) says yes — but only if Debbie fills in as music teacher at her child’s high school. Debbie agrees and takes out “the bleached blonde extensions and overdone wardrobe” and swaps them for cardigan sweaters. At the school, she falls in love with teaching and the school counselor, Noah (Robert Gant).
