One of the more memorable auditions on American Idol is delivered by singer Effie Passero from Modesto, California. By the end of her audition, her voice gets 5x Grammy Award winner Lionel Richie on his feet. Just a few days before her audition airs on American Idol, Effie (who’s also a songwriter) posted the video below. It’s a snippet of her new theatrical piece titled “Bigger than Us.” She says it’s about “when life gets ya down, there’s something bigger meant for you.” She also tagged @disney in the post asking that the company hire her to write their music. She added a self-effacing lol but we’re not sure why. She can do it!
Fun fact about Effie: When not singing and writing songs, she works as the house manager at Modesto’s historic film house, The State Theater. American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
