Before the Top 10 artists perform live on The Voice (December 4), they got to hang with their coaches and ask them questions about their careers. Adam Cunningham asked Adam Levine when it was that he first realized he’d made it as an artist. Levine said it was the first time he heard his first single “Harder to Breath” from his first album on the radio. And then when he heard the second song, “This Is Love,” was the icing on the cake. Cunningham said he bought the album. Young Addison Agen didn’t — because she was only one year old at the time!

When Cunningham asks Levine what was the strangest thing that ever happened to him on stage, Levine recounts a time when a Maroon 5 guitarist walked off the stage for a solo and fell about 10 feet down. (He turned out okay and made his way back on stage.) Cunningham kidded: “that’s the worst crowd surfing ever.” Levine clarifies that there’s no crowd surfing at Maroon 5 concerts. “It’s a highly female dominated audience.” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
