American Horror Story: Cult opens on Election Night 2017 in a Michigan suburb. AHS star Sarah Paulson plays lesbian mom Ally Mayfair-Richards who is emotionally crushed when she learns that Donald Trump is the president. Her wife Ivy Mayfair-Richards (Alison Pill) tries to comfort her — but Ally’s coulrophobia (fear of clowns) is at an all-time high after the election. And their sinister new babysitter, Winter Anderson, isn’t helping. She gives Ally and Ivy’s son a Twisty the Clown doll but tells him not to tell his moms. (Keep in mind, Winter tells cult leader Kai Anderson that what fills her heart most with dread is children.)
[Lourd worked with AHS’s Ryan Murphy on Scream Queens]
Winter is portrayed by Billie Lourd. She’s known for her roles on Scream Queens (Chanel #3) and in the J.J. Abram’s 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens as young resistance fighter Lieutenant Connix). Lourd will reprise her role as Lt. Connix in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which will be out December 15, 2017. Note: Lourd is the daughter of the late Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher and Bryan Lourd (photos below). American Horror Story: Cult premieres Tuesday, September 5 at 10pm on FX.
