Lifetime’s talent competition The Pop Game is very similar to The Rap Game. Five aspiring singers get the opportunity to work with professionals in their field and vie for the grand prize — a record deal. On The Rap Game the mentor is Jermaine Dupri; on The Pop Game it’s Timbaland. One of the five contestants on The Pop Game is Madysyn Rose who performs Meghan Trainor, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry covers, among others.

Madysyn Rose, a 15-year-old blonde California girl, had her first taste of fame when her father posted a 36-second video of her practicing the Sam Smith song “La La La” when she was 13. The video (see below) was viewed more than 10 million times on Facebook. Madysyn recently dropped her first album “Butterfly” on iTunes. Like the other two girls on the show (Cravetay and Ashlund Jade), Madysyn’s mother (Sherry) is her manager. The Pop Game airs Tuesdays at 10pm on Lifetime.
