On the heels of The Rap Game comes The Pop Game on Lifetime. The series premiere episode ‘Got What It Takes’ introduces five young artists trying to become the next big pop star. On The Rap Game, the young rappers’ mentor is Jermaine Dupri; on The Pop Game the mentor is Grammy Award winner Timbaland. Other guests appear throughout the series to help the aspiring vocalists — including Nelly Furtado.
Ashlund Jade is the youngest of the five singers. But the 13-year-old from Riverton, Utah is more than a singer – she’s a triple threat (singer, dancer, actress) who already has 157,500 subscribers on YouTube. Ashlund’s music videos include covers of Hailee Steinfeld, Rachel Platten, Meghan Trainor songs (see below). Her mother Mandy is her manager. The Pop Game airs Tuesdays at 10pm on Lifetime.
