Longtime Howard Stern Show contributor Memet Walker talked up Donald Trump for months. Thing is, Memet thought it was a joke. He didn’t think Trump really had a chance to actually win, so he felt free to bash Hillary Clinton in comically absurd ways, playing along with the rest of the media in making the election a personality-based horse race, instead of a serious consideration of what’s at stake. Here’s a typical Memet post:

A regretful Memet confessed to Howard Stern that when the election results came in, he thought he’d made a grave mistake. He was just being contrarian, making a stand against Hillary Clinton because he thought for sure she would win. Robin let him have it with “so then you’re an idiot and you didn’t vote the way you wanted to?” Memet said he thought he was sending a message that Clinton “didn’t have a complete mandate.” He went on to say: “When I saw [Clinton] concede, I was like my God what have I done?” Stern agreed with Robin: “I’ve never heard of voting for someone you’re not for to send a message,” he said, adding “you gotta see a psychiatrist.”
