22Kill is a veterans’ organization based in Farmers Branch, Texas. The organization recently launched a social media campaign, 22Pushups, to help bridge the gap between veterans and civilians. Similar to the Ice Bucket Challenge, 22Kill encourages people around the world to video themselves doing 22 pushups every day for 22 days, and then tagging and challenging friends to join in. The organization hopes to reach a goal of 22 million pushups. 22 refers to the number of veterans who take their own lives every day.
22Kill also sells merchandise including the #22KILL Honor Ring, which is meant to be worn on the right index finger, symbolizing the “trigger finger.” The 22KILL ring is worn as a symbol of commitment to raising awareness to the issues of veteran suicide.
