On Love & Hip Hop, Yorma meets her sister Cimary for lunch in Inwood. When Cimary asks about Yorma about her man DJ Self — “the Prince of New York” — Yorma says, “He’s working on being a better boyfriend.” Cimary’s not buying it. “One step forward, three steps back, kind of thing?” Yorma’s confused until Cimary plays a clip from DJ Self’s show. On air, DJ Self calls Rose, owner of the salon and sexy boutique Beauty Bar, which is right around the corner from the restaurant where the sisters are having lunch. (It’s where Cardi B’s music video “Cheap Ass Weave” is filmed.)
Cimary suggests that Yorma go over to Beauty Bar and just ask Rose if there’s something going on between her and Self. Yorma doesn’t feel comfortable with the idea at first – going to someone’s place of business and all – but Yorma decides against reason and pops up at the Beauty Bar, where things turn ugly fast. Love & Hip Hop airs Mondays at 8pm on VH1.
