Blind country singer Garrett Miles sang Garth Brooks’ song “To Make You Feel My Love” on American Idol, in Hollywood. The Alabama-born musician received a standing ovation from the audience. After the performance, after Miles was escorted off the stage, judge Harry Connick Jr. said, “I love how he holds out his notes. There’s no rattling.” Country star Keith Urban told Connick, “It’s a country thing.”
On Facebook, Miles recently posted a YouTube video of him singing a song written by a friend of his, Steve Howard. It’s called “Holding On To Something.” He wrote: “it was a casual performance at my friend Don’s house. Nothing too fancy. I’m hoping to record it in the studio. Let me know what you think.” Fan Betsey Burnett wrote: “Well, it made me cry! But in a good way. Absolutely beautiful.”
