Baylor Wilson and her mother Missy Payne are contestants on the 2014 season of Survivor: Blood Vs. Water. Baylor grew up in her mother’s cheerleading gym in Texas and cheered competitively throughout middle school and high school, where she won the Cheerleading Worlds competition in 2009. But at the University of Oklahoma, Baylor didn’t make the cheerleading squad so she turned to her other passion: music.
Baylor transferred from Oklahoma to Belmont University presumably to be closer to the music scene in Nashville, Tenneesse. Baylor’s now working on her first album. She says her faith in God is helping her reach her goals. “I know the Lord’s plan for me is far better than what I have in mind for myself,” she wrote on her website. “It’s been crazy,” she admitted. And on Survivor, where Baylor is going to go up against the likes of former MLB pitcher John Rocker, it’s only going to get crazier.
