On Oprah: Where Are They Now?, Oprah Winfrey interviews three singers: country legend Kenny Rogers, Broadway star Ben Vereen, and B-52’s singer Kate Pierson. Kate got married in August to a woman, artist Monica Coleman. While Pierson has been in many long-term relationships with men in the past, she tells Oprah, “Monica is the first woman I’ve ever been with.”
Pierson explains that when she met Monica: “She just glowed to me and as we got to know each other more, it seemed to me just very very natural. I didn’t think ‘am I bisexual, am I lesbian?’ It just naturally happened. It didn’t feel like any bursting out of the closet.” Pierson kids with Monica, “We have to share a closet now – that’s the worst part of it.” Even in a “Love Shack”! Oprah: Where Are They Now? airs Saturdays at 10pm on OWN.
