On Season 1 of Growing Up Hip Hop: New York, Murder Inc. co-founder Irv Gotti tries to get his original artists — Ja Rule, Fat Joe and Ashanti — together for a reunion tour. Ja and Joe are in but Ashanti is not a definite.
When not on stage, Ashanti spends time with her fashion designer sister Kenashia “Shia” Douglas. The two sisters are on the November cover of Sheen magazine.
Ashanti says the creative motif (the women wearing tight leopard print in front of “the iconic Harlem location that included the Front stoops and brownstones”) was all Shia’s idea. Ashanti gave thanks to Sheen magazine “for allowing her to flex!!”.
Shia also designs and models bikinis and one-piece swimsuits for the Ashanti x PLT collection.
