On the Season 9 reunion for Teen Mom 2, without the rest of the cast present, Jenelle Evans sits down with Dr. Drew Pinsky and MTV host Nessa Diab. Nessa summarizes the origins of an argument Jenelle has had with Amber Portwood. Basically, Jenelle claims she was upset when Amber said online that Jenelle should get out of her “abusive” relationship with her husband David Eason. Jenelle said Amber should have spoken with her directly, privately.
“You did exactly that to me,” host Nessa says to Jenelle. “You posted hateful comments on social media about my family, my man, Colin Kaepernick.” Nessa has been dating NFL football player and activist Colin Kaepernick since July 2015, when he was quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. When Jenelle repeatedly says, “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” the hurtful posts Nessa refers to on Jenelle’s social media account are displayed on the screen.

Nessa tells Jenelle, “This is an open healthy conversation that I would like to have with you.” Nessa explains the purpose of Kaepernick’s peaceful protests and then tells Jenelle, “I would have appreciated if you had contacted me.”
Jenelle responds by saying, “I don’t know anything about your husband, I swear to God,” and breaks down in tears. Jenelle then stands up, threatens to leave but before doing so, she turns to Nessa and says, “This is about my storyline, and you want to bring up your issues. It’s not your show.”
Jenelle walks out cursing and sobbing and demanding to be taken away. When Jenelle is off the set, Nessa tells Dr. Drew, “I’ve known Jenelle over the years, and I’ve always been very fair and just to her.” She adds, “It wouldn’t be authentic to who I am to be on this stage while someone has disrespected my family on social media. I at least have to address that.” Teen Mom 2 airs Mondays at 9 pm on MTV.
