Actress and TV host Busy Philipps (Cougar Town, Dawson’s Creek) premiered her talk show Busy Tonight on E! on October 28, 2018. Her first guest was Mindy Kaling. Five months later, on May 5, Philipps announced that the show has been dropped from E! and that she’s looking to find a new home for it. (May 16 will be the last episode on E!) With a photo of her looking somber (obviously it’s sad when your show gets cancelled) and standing on a roof top wearing a smocked “couch floral print” maxi dress by designer Rachel Antonoff, Philips wrote: “Who knows what the future will bring,” she wrote (see post below).
Note: Designer Rachel Antonoff describes the dress as a solution to wardrobe dilemmas. “Tired of not being able to, as the old saying goes, ‘have your couch and wear it too’? Look no further! The Clark Dress in original couch floral print is the solution for this and manifold other of your wardrobe dilemmas.”

Celebrities have been sharing their disappointment over the news. Will & Grace star Debra Messing sent her condolences: “This is a huge disappointment especially because you created something that was uplifting, joyous, original & uniquely yours.” And plus-size model Tess Holliday wrote: “Being on the show was one of the purest, and happiest of my career. Thank you to you & your incredible, badass team.”
An E! spokesperson added: “Busy Tonight‘s last episode for E! will air Thursday, May 16 with a special celebratory half-hour. Busy is a hilarious and charismatic talent and we are grateful to the entire Busy Tonight team who has delivered countless laughs and heartwarming moments in what will be over 100 episodes.”
