In The Real Housewives of New York City episode “Things Are Going Southampton,” a fractured group arrives at the Hamptons. The tension between Luann de Lessep and Dorinda Medley is at an all-time high. Luann’s friend Barbara Kavovit tries to bring the ladies together by throwing a clambake, but then tries to rescind the invitation to Dorinda. Barbara tells Sonja Morgan, who’s become like a mediator between the two, that Luann is in “a vulnerable state right now and she doesn’t want to be around Dorinda.” That’s when Barbara asks Sonja “can you come with Tinsley, just Tinsley?” to the party. Sonja asks what about Ramona (Sonja and Tinsley Mortimer are staying at Ramona Singer‘s house). Sonja says Ramona is “all excited to come.”

Barbara says later to the cameras, “I feel really bad for Sonja because she’s in a really awkward position.” But that doesn’t stop her from asking Sonja to do her dirty work because she doesn’t want Luann “to feel uncomfortable at my clambake.” Imagine if your life was so difficult. Barbara claims, “If that means I have to dis-invite someone, so be it!” How noble, in a passive aggressive way. Then Barbara asks Sonja to encourage Dorinda to give Luann “a little text or call.” Sonja, who seems to be relishing in her new position as mediator, says “I think that sounds like a great idea.” Good luck, ladies.
