It’s down to the Top 8 on Season 15 of The Voice. The remaining eight artists will perform live on Monday, December 10 before four of them are eliminated the following day. (Four will advance to the The Voice Finals which begins Monday, December 10.) Coach Adam Levine has just one artist in the mix – 14-year-old Reagan Strange from Memphis, Tennessee. For her Top 8 live performance, Reagan will sing the 2017 Calum Scott hit song “You Are The Reason” from his Only Human album.

The slow tempo song (58 beats for minute) is about a person missing another, pleading for their return, and a willingness to fix what the singer broke. The lyrics include: “And I’d climb every mountain/ And swim every ocean/ Just to be with you/ And fix what I’ve broken.” The musicality of the song is like a hybrid of a lullaby and a holy Christmas carol. When Reagan applies her angelic voice to the song and hits those high notes and owns them, she proves she deserves a spot at the live finals. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 pm on NBC.
