One of the most popular child stars on network TV in the 1970s was Jimmy Walker. The native New Yorker portrayed James “JJ” Evans, Jr. on Good Times opposite John Amos as his father. Walker’s character JJ became famous for his signature celebratory exclamation, “Dy-no-mite!” Now, nearly 40 years later, Walker is back on network TV competing on Battle of the Network Stars with other former child stars including Mackenzie Phillips (Julie Cooper on One Day at a Time).
