The 24 To Life episode ‘Desperate Measures’ follows the last day of freedom for former Bank of America employee Elisha Araiza — before she starts her one-year-and-nine-month sentence in prison. The 36-year-old mother of two confessed to embezzling more than $200,000 over a four-year period from her employer in Kansas City, Missouri. On the show, she’s seen telling her two young children that she’s going to camp. She says she didn’t tell them she was going to jail because she doesn’t want them to worry. “I want this to be easy on the kids,” she says. Elisha also has the break the bad news that she will likely miss a birthday. “But as soon as I come back home, I’ll take care of everything again.” Luckily for Elisha, she seems to have very sweet, understanding children.

According to The Kansas City Star, in addition to her prison sentence, Elisha Araiza is also ordered to pay $213,090 in restitution to the Bank of America. 24 To Life airs Wednesdays at 10pm on LMN.
