In the Grey’s Anatomy episode ‘Jukebox Hero’, former chief of surgery Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) does his best to make fellow surgeon Dr. Eliza Minnick’s (Marika Dominczyk) first day at the hospital miserable. When he meets the attendings for a clandestine meeting about how to oust Minnick, Jackson (Jesse Williams) reports that he has a petition going around. Richard says, “It’s too late for that.”
Richard starts talking like a general on the battlefield. He tells the attendings (his troops), “The battle’s begun.” He says he’s done “some recon” and plans to “isolate the enemy” by “cutting off the supply lines” and “starving her out.” Is Richard taking his plan too far? Or is Eliza as great of a threat to the hospital as Richard claims? Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8pm on ABC.
