In the new TV series The Great Indoors, the founder of the adventure magazine Outdoor Limits, Roland, makes the decision to take the magazine completely digital. He assigns adventure writer Jack Gordon (Joel McHale) to the task of heading the digital department which is chock full of millennials who don’t understand why Jack doesn’t have an Instagram account.

Roland is portrayed by Englishman Stephen Fry. He’s known as a writer, actor, and comedian. Americans will recognize him from his roles on 24: Live Another Day (Prime Minister Alastair Davies) and Bones with his good friend Hugh Laurie (Dr. Gordon Wyatt), among others. Fry is also well recognized for his roles in the films Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter (Cheshire Cat), Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (Robert Downey Jr’s brother Mycroft Holmes), and V for Vendetta (Deitrich), among others. Fun fact: Fry is also the narrator of the adorable animated series Pocoyo. The Great Indoors airs Thursdays at 8:30pm on CBS.
