In the TV movie Date With Love, Hollywood actress Alex experiences an embarrassing breakup with a boyfriend on the red carpet. To help mend her “America’s Sweetheart” reputation, Alex accepts a young fan’s proposal to be his prom date. When Alex arrives in town, her prom date David (Quinn Lord) gives her a tour and introduces her to one of his teachers, Mr. Walsh (Andrew W. Walker). Sparks fly.
Alex is portrayed by Shenae Grimes-Beech. The Canadian-born actress is known for her roles on 90210 (Annie Wilson), and Degrassi: The Next Generation and Degrassi: Minis (Darcy Edwards), among others. Grimes-Beech is also recognized for her roles in the films Scream 4 (Trudie) and the Rotimi Rainwater dramatic film Sugar. Grimes plays the lead role of Sugar, a homeless girl who suffers from post-traumatic stress syndrome. Date with Love will premiere on Hallmark Channel on May 21 at 9pm. It will air again on May 22 at 3pm, May 28 at 7pm, May 29 at 11am, and June 19 at 5pm.
