Keith Griffith pleaded guilty to shooting his wife of 35 years, Julie Griffith, three times before burning their McCracken County, Kentucky house down in January 2014. Before the murder and fire, Keith Griffith had taken out additional life insurance policies on his wife and was wooing a woman named Deanna Cloe, with whom he wanted to start a romantic relationship. With all the evidence against him, Griffith plead guilty to murder, arson, tampering and cruelty to animals — as well as new charge of criminal solicitation leveled after his incarceration.
According to WPSD, while held in the McCracken County Regional Jail, Griffith asked an inmate to shoot detective Matt Carter at Carter’s home. Dateline NBC will air its investigative report on April 8 at 10pm.
