On the Teen Mom OG episode “Why Can’t We Just Get Along,” Tyler Baltierra’s father Darl Lynn “Butch” Baltierra, 53, is released from jail. Butch has been in and out of jail for much of Tyler’s life on charges like Breaking & Entertaining a Building With Intent, Home Invasion (2nd Degree), and Larceny in a Building. When released in August 2015, Butch gets to meet his grandbaby Nova and prepare for Tyler and Catelynn’s wedding. Spoiler alert: Papa parolee makes it to the church on time.

Tyler has posted a number of photos of his pops since his release. Some include sweet messages of encouragement including: “It took 20 something years for my dad to finally acknowledge the worth of changing. Now his outside matches his new found peace inside. Happy for him!” And some include fun before-and-after looks at Butch (see below). Butch has become a celebrity since his son’s involvement with the Teen Mom franchise. He has more than 16,000 followers on Instagram, although he keeps the account private. Teen Mom OG airs Mondays at 10pm on MTV.
