With the mystery accident that befell 19-year-old Hunter Montgomery still unexplained, Hunter’s father country star Eddie Montgomery announced the young man’s death on Facebook, saying that Hunter “went to heaven today.” Young Hunter Montgomery was an engaged father with an infant son. The accident apparently took place in his home last week.
Many of the elder Montgomery’s friends and colleagues reached out publicly upon hearing the heartbreaking news. “Hazel, myself and all the CDB folks wish to extend our deepest condolences to Eddie Montgomery and family in the loss of his son Hunter,” wrote Charlie Daniels on Twitter. Country star Travis Tritt wrote: “My heart breaks for my friend Eddie Montgomery who lost his son, Hunter today. Prayers for Eddie and his family.” Eddie Montgomery, who tweets as @LuckyManEddie hasn’t tweeted since before Hunter passed away. It must be hard to reconcile his optimistic Twitter handle with the terrible news. RIP, Hunter Montgomery.
